Swap cost calculator
Estimate what holding a leveraged position overnight will cost or pay you, including the triple-charge night.
How it works
Total swap = swap per lot per night × lots × (nights held + 2 × triple-swap nights). A triple-swap night is charged three times because it covers the weekend, so it adds two extra nights to the count.
Example, with hypothetical numbers: one lot held for five nights at −7.50 a night, one of them a Wednesday, is charged for 5 + 2 = 7 nights: 7 × −7.50 = −52.50.
Swap rates change with interest rates and differ between long and short positions, between brokers and between account types. Swap-free accounts usually replace the swap with another fee. Our guide to swap rates and overnight financing explains how they are built.
The calculation runs in your browser and nothing you type is sent anywhere. Results are arithmetic, not advice: your broker's own figures, contract specifications and charges always apply. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of losing money.
